Acorn opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1973 and has been serving the local community from that time until the present day. At first, we were known as Acorn Records but the name was later changed to Acorn Music to reflect the wider range of products stocked. The business has remained under the same ownership throughout, and its philosophy has always been to offer a wide range of music at competitive prices whilst offering a first class standard of service.
We have thousands of CDs in stock covering a wide musical spectrum and Acorn has always been noted for its huge range of Rock and Pop from early Rock N Roll right up to the latest releases.
There is also a large Classical Music section and plenty to choose from in Jazz, Blues, Folk, Country, Reggae and World Music along with loads of music DVDs including live concerts, videos and documentaries.
We have been ordering CDs and DVDs for customers over many years and if we don't have it in stock we'll do all we can to obtain it for you. We have accounts with pretty much all UK record companies and have a wide range of contacts. If someone somewhere in the world holds stock of the item you require we should be able to get it for you.
Our selection of Audio Books on CD encompasses great novels, poetry, and classic BBC shows and you will also find hundreds of Music Books to help you to learn to play various instruments, along with all sorts of sheet music.
Acorn also stocks Guitars and Ukuleles along with a range of accessories like Strings, Straps, Picks, Leads, Capos, Tuners, Gig Bags, Stands and plenty more - oh, and a range of Drum Sticks too. You will also find things like Clarinet and Saxophone Reeds, Violin Strings and Rosin.
We have a small selection of Record Player Stylii in stock and can order most stylii. Please bring your old stylus to help us to identify the one you need.
Yeovil is renowned for its live music scene and we sell tickets for many shows at The Orange Box and the Westland Leisure Complex along with other local venues.
Acorn is open from 9.15am to 5.15 pm six days a week from Monday to Saturday. We are happy to take orders over the phone for dispatch by post, so feel free to give us a call if you can't make it to the shop or Contact Us by e-mail.
Glovers Walk is a pedestrian precinct adjacent to Yeovil Bus Station and we are located at the bottom end of the escalator leading to and from the Quedam shopping centre.
We hope to see you soon.
